Land Boundary Updated for Gardiner Neighborhood Plan

Successful Gardiner has been listening to public comment over the last few months and weeks while we push forward to request Park County to adopt the Gardiner Neighborhood Plan. The biggest concern we have heard is that the plan is misleading without a specific land boundary. Though this was discussed many times in our meetings, we did not previously adopt one as many of the objectives are not boundary specific. However, we realise a boundary is needed in order to be more clear with implementing strategies pertaining to land use going forward. We are proposing to use the Gardiner Resort Tax District. The Resort Tax District was established to support town operations, infrastructure, services, and culture, encompassing Gardiner’s core community and critical needs. This boundary as well as its intent complements the Gardiner Neighborhood Plan and represents the best fit for a designated boundary.Â
As this is an addition that was not previously noted in the plan we have posted all recent edits here and invite your feedback. The Gardiner Neighborhood Plan Boundary was presented to the Commissioners on September 16th and we were asked to present again on September 30th once we had fully incorporated this addition. After thorough review we have incorporated all necessary edits in red. Please note that including a boundary makes no difference to the goals, objectives and strategies you all supported and the only description needed to incorporate it is on page 21. We encourage all of you who helped us develop this plan or/and who support it being adopted to help guide Gardiner's future to please let our County Commissioners know, either by sending an email to their website or by joining us at the meeting on September 30th.
